For more than three decades, WMGB Home Improvement has been living out its mission of providing exceptional home remodeling services in our local area. Our many years’ of experience helped us become one of the most reputable window installation experts. Apart from our signature glass block windows, we also offer RockWell™ egress window wells. Let us discuss their features and benefits.
Enhanced Safety
Egress windows basically serve as emergency exits for your added security and protection. The International Residential Code, in fact, requires them installed in every living space, usually in the basement. For your convenience, they should be easily opened without having to use keys or special tools. They should also be at least 20 inches in width with a minimum height of 24 inches.
Furthermore, the sill height of egress window wells should be no higher than 44 inches above the floor. Our window wells also have at least nine square feet of floor space and are three feet long per side. Most importantly, they come standard with built-in steps for your easy escape.
Improved Aesthetics
While most homeowners look at egress windows’ installation in the most utilitarian sense, adding a bit of flair and style wouldn’t hurt. RockWell window wells feature a unique, realistic-looking stone texture, which is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. This is a surefire way to revamp your basement, increasing your curb appeal and overall property value.
Better Lighting
Most of the time, basements are depicted as gloomy, dark, and neglected spaces you’d rather not frequent. That said, having RockWell egress windows in this area will surely breathe new life into it. We make sure to install them at least three feet away from the basement wall, maximizing natural light entry. This way, your basement would appear bigger, brighter, and more inviting. With a few tweaks in the interior, you can even convert it into a recreational area where you and your family can relax and have fun.
With their enhanced security, upgraded look, and greater lighting, egress window wells are certainly a profitable addition to any home. Call us at (616) 328-6625 or complete our form to get a FREE estimate. We serve Grand Rapids, Lansing, and nearby MI areas.
