home energy efficiency

If you and your family are anything like us, the cold and gloomy weather really puts a damper on your personal energy. Times like these make us want to order in and binge-watch The Crown on Netflix. Luckily, when it comes to your home’s energy efficiency, WMGB Home Improvement knows how to make sure it doesn’t slack.

How do you know if your home’s energy-efficiency needs a boost? First, let’s take a look to see if your household energy is doing its chores! Energy can be used for things we consider to be everyday comforts, like dishwashers, laundry machines, refrigerators, and our personal favorite: TVs (of course not until the dishes are done!). Maybe more importantly right now, you should know that your household energy is used largely for heat: heat in the rooms of your house, the water in your house, and in many homes, the heat used for cooking. Have you noticed any of these utilities lacking lately? To gauge exactly how much your home’s energy can be improved, you may want to consider calling WMGB Home Improvement for either an Energy Assessment or home energy audit. We know this brings you to another question: What is the difference, and how do I know which one to get?

Home Energy Audit

This is a full assessment to analyze the energy flows to save energy in your home. A home energy audit done by professionals will give you the most thorough evaluation of your household energy use. Home energy audits will identify the proper energy-efficiency measures that you can do to improve your home’s energy-efficiency.

What will we do?

WMGB Home Improvement will seal up the house and do a lot of air movement measurements checking for leaks and drafts. This is usually called a blower door test.

How much will it cost?

Right now at WMGB Home Improvement, our home energy audits are 50% off our normal price; for $225.00, the process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. We’ll let you know exactly what needs to be done to ensure your home is as energy-efficient as possible. If you decide to let us do the work for you, we’ll credit that $225.00 back toward any of that work. As a bonus, you’ll be paying less in energy bills.

How will I feel when this is done?

Cozier, with a sense of comfort that tells you all is right in the world. Also, lighter, because much less of your hard-earned money will be going to those energy bills!

Energy Assessment

An energy assessment is free! However, it is less thorough; a Free healthy home assessment is more of a walk through. Of course we’ll have a BPI certified auditor do that walk through, so you will receive an educated estimate of where your home’s energy is in need of a boost, and an idea of what we can do to improve it.

If you’re simply curious to see if your home could possibly be more energy-efficient, the Free healthy home assessment is the right choice for you.
