With the continued growth and development of the various industries that keep our nation going, energy efficiency and conservation is more important than ever. Here at WMGB Home Improvement, we take seriously the effect our business practices have on the environment, and have always done our best to minimize energy waste while maximizing energy efficiency. As such, we’re proud to announce that WMGB has been chosen as a finalist for the 2018 Governor’s Energy Excellence Awards in the category of Contractor of the Year!
Having What It Takes
So what does it take to become a finalist for a Governor’s Energy Excellence Award? For one thing, you have to be dedicated to improving energy efficiency. The 21 businesses, organizations and individuals from across Michigan chosen as finalists for these awards have all taken decisive, meaningful action in their efforts to improve energy efficiency.
“Through our policies and initiatives in Michigan, we are working hard to ensure energy reliability, advance clean energy, and help business owners and residents reduce energy waste,” said Gov. Rick Snyder. “Among other things, we’re encouraging utilities to provide incentives and programs that make it easier for others to follow the example of those we’re honoring this year.”
Diversity in Innovation
For the past four years, the Governor’s Energy Excellence Awards have highlighted the diversity among Michigan’s brightest residents, businesses and organizations, and the innovative projects and practices they’ve developed in order to increase energy efficiency and reduce energy waste, both publicly and privately. Nominees were chosen from eight different categories:
- Best Project: Residential
- Best Project: Agriculture
- Best Project: Industrial/Manufacturing
- Best Project: Commercial (Private)
- Best Project: Public
- Contractor of the Year
- Innovator of the Year
- Best Program
WMGB Home Improvement is honored to be one of just three companies nominated in the category of Contractor of the Year for 2018. Award winners will be announced in September.
